A vote for me is a vote for those homespun American values that made this country great, not to mention delicious! I make the solemn vow to you, dear friends and neighbors: We can return to the good old days when oatmeal wasn't afraid to be crunchy and peanut butter wasn't afraid to be creamy, when a cookie was a cookie and proud of it! No other cookie better represents the 100-year history of Girl Scouts than me. I am named in honor of Savannah, Georgia, where Juliette GordonLow walked beneath the moss-draped trees and decided to startthis amazing organization for girls. As the newest candidate for your vote, I will deliver cool and crisp bursts of happiness as you bite into lemon chips surrounded by my powdered-sugary outside.

My fellow Oklahomans, no longer can we abide the humdrum of yesteryear! No longer do we have to accept the go-along-to-get-along of chocolate chip, gingerbread or even iced animal crackers. An exciting era needs an exciting cookie to lead the way. We must be brave! We must be bold! We must face the challenges of tomorrow with toasted coconut, caramel and a drizzle of chocolate goodness. One bite, my fellow citizens, and you will taste the light!

Want to guess why I merge the delicious tastes of scrumptious chocolate and creamy peanut butter? Because they are among the two greatest things known to humankind -- that's why. Don't be fooled by my worthy opponents; there is no rocket science to what makes a great dessert treat. Chocolate? Check. Peanut Butter? Check. Tagalong on the ballot? Check. Some candidates think they have to offer elaborate solutions and grand promises, but sometimes the best things in life are also the most elegantly simple. For refreshment and refinement, look no further, ladies and gentlemen! Do you find oatmeal raisin left on the pillows of bedrooms for the turndown service in fancy hotels? I think not! Let the undiscerning cookie eater accept the cookie-cutter varieties. Compared to me, all other competitors crumble.

As the original Girl Scout Cookie I am the most experienced candidate on the slate. Babies and adults alike love me because I'm, well, just plain ol' delicious! And that's what you get with a bite of yours truly, a return to the halcyon days of simple wholesome sweetness. Call me old-fashioned, if you will, but no other cookie on the ticket goes down better with a tall glass of ice-cold milk than me!
